Against the Grain Brewery teams up with Brouwerij De Molen for a Bourbon Barrel Beer

img_2647 Against The Grain Brewery and Dutch brewer Menno Oliver of Brouwerij De Molen will collaborate on an experimental beer. This beer, to be known as Bo & Luke, will emphasize the constituent ingredients found in authentic Kentucky Bourbon and will be barrel conditioned in Pappy van Winkle bourbon barrels.  Jerry Gnagy (AtG Brewmaster) and Menno will co-produce this beer at Against The Grain Brewery on Tuesday- June 12, 2012, while Menno makes his first trip to The United States.

Menno Oliver, known as the man behind what some call the “best brewery on earth” as well as brewing some of the world’s most sought after beers, including the infamous Disputin (aka Cease & Desist) Russian Imperial Stout, has invaded the US this month for Shelton Bros/12% Imports The Festival, stopping in Louisville, Kentucky to visit Bourbon distilleries, go to Churchill Downs, and (most importantly) brew Bo & Luke a barrel aged imperial smoked stout.

The collaboration brew… ‘Bo & Luke’ will be available in the third quarter of 2012.  Stay tuned.

I like the beer.
