tailspin_logoUPDATE: We have just posted the beer list for Tailspin Ale Fest.

STOP THE PRESSES! Louisville’s newest beer festival is coming February 22, 2014 to Bowman Field. The  Tailspin Ale Fest is the dream of our pal, Tisha Gainey and Trevor Cravens, President of DRAFT Magazine. LouisvilleBeer.com is super stoked about being a sponsor of another great beer festival here in Louisville.

Tisha Gainey tells us:

“This has been one of my visions/dreams to host my own beer festival with all the great people I’ve met in the industry over the past 7 years in my beer related career. I’ve thought about Bowman Field being the perfect location and now it’s coming true. I met Trevor, President of Draft Magazine, a couple years ago at the Louisville Beer Store and ever since have continually ran into him and have developed a business relationship. Trevor/DRAFT has been great partners in my daily career, so I’m very excited to be working with them and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as our Charity. CFF has an overwhelming volunteer base as well as their local office being Craft Beer Enthusiasts. Together we’re pulling together to make this one great festival!”

Kentucky has long been known for offering the finest spirits, but recently, there is a another liquid emerging that embodies all of the artisanal qualities that make us so proud of our state.  The American Craft Beer movement is in full force and Kentucky is well on it’s way to making our mark on this industry with an emerging craft beer scene.  Tailspin Ale Fest seeks to further this cause by providing a premier festival for the craft brewer and craft beer drinker in the Kentuckiana Region, while raising funds and awareness to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation  In this, the Inaugural Tailspin Ale Fest, we will feature more than 150 craft beers in a revived WWII era airplane hangar at the oldest continually operating airfield in North America.  All paid attendees will receive a souvenir tasting glass. Food served by local food trucks will be available for purchase. The festival also features live music, a biplane display, KY Heritage Section and educational programming.

John Wurth
John Wurth started LouisvilleBeer.com back in 2008 as he and some of his friends were getting into craft beer, then it sat dormant for a couple years. He resurrected the site in the Summer of 2011 when he noticed how big the craft beer scene was blowing up in Louisville. With a little help from his friends, LouisvilleBeer.com has become *the* place for craft beer news, reviews and events.
